Thomas Nepveu is Back on Track at Long Beach this Weekend!
Thomas Nepveu will be back on track for the second round of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America (PCCNA) Championship this weekend in California. He will be driving the #24 All Rem | Richelieu | GFL | Cromwell car in the Pro class at the renowned Grand Prix of Long Beach.
The PCCNA series will be running in conjunction with the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in its first Sprint race of the season, but also in support of IndyCar. "I'm looking forward to being back on a street circuit," said Thomas who will be commanding the McElrea Racing entry. "Long Beach is a very technical track, which bypasses the Long Beach Convention Center. There is always a lot of high action racing because of the layout."
Every year, the show is always more exciting than the last. Some of the action takes place in the hairpin on the final stretch of the circuit before the long straight, but drivers will have the opportunity to overtake in turns one, six and nine. "Due to the narrow nature of the track, the qualifying session will be critical since there are not many passing zones."
"I learned a lot at Sebring and I can't wait to use that newfound experience around the streets of Long Beach. I want to impress my partners Allrem, Evirum, Richelieu and Cromwell, in addition to GFL who joined at the beginning of the season. I want to thank them for their support, we have a great future ahead of us and this is only the beginning!"
Thomas will be on track on Friday, April 14 for two practice sessions at 10:45 AM and 2:15 PM ET, followed by qualifying at 7:30 PM. The first race will take place at 8:15 PM, followed by the second race of the weekend on Sunday, April 16 at 7:20 PM.
The races will be broadcast live on the Official IMSA YouTube channel and on IMSA.tv.
